ROGUE LIGHT DECK BUILDER
A downloadable game for Windows
ROGUE LIGHT DECK BUILDER is a digital wooden board game.
Your house needs a deck. You have a hammer. You have wood and you have nails. The light outside is faulty. You work, you earn. Freedom is $1,000,000.
Build a deck. Use your hammer. Drive the nails in. Scrimp and save. Freedom is just around the corner.
Upgrade your hammer, your hand, your nails. Squash a bug. Upgrade the bug. Squash it again. Say it with me: "Freedom is just around the corner."
Keep your streak alive. The light is blinking. Listen to your nails. Cash out. $1,000,000, remember? Step by step. Hit your hand. Ignore the pain. Just around the corner.
GAME HAS:
— ~20-30 minute minimum playtime to finish the story
— run-based gameplay with random elements to mix it up
— deviant nails will require different strategies and sometimes make conversation with you
— achingly-detailed physical simulations of swinging a hammer around to whang on some nails
— loving husband
please enjoy.
Heads-Up: Some people with 4/5-series AMD GPUs have been getting errors when they try to run the game. I have not been able to isolate the problem and have no estimate for when this issue might be resolved.

please add mac compat, i want to play in school but we have macs (they suck)
I made an itch account just so i could play this
Live Streaming some attempts at a speedrun today, drop by and chat about Rogue Light Deck Builder :D
Discovered a bug. Once you've won, clear save seems to do nothing. Oddly happened over and over while streaming (and since) but clear save seemed to work before streaming
Hi, anyone experience on linux? I would try wine, but would be happy to hear another experience before buying.
change the light colour to red and re-release it as ROUGE LIGHT DECK BUILDER
hey i'm not able to open the game, it says this (i've tried opening it in the zip, extracting the loose files, extracting the folder, running as admin, etc), also i have a GT 710 gpu if that helps.
I wanna like it but I can't get a single perfect hit. How are y'all doing it???
my husband left me
Will take a look at this once it's on steam.
Gotta make sure Gabe gets their cut. Wouldn't want a small indie company like valve to suffer from lack of revenue.
Bought this to play with a couple buddies, it's taking us way over 30 minutes to get the hang of it, but finally starting to get perfect and squash some bugs. Maybe we missed it, but is there a way to save the game? Understandable if there isn't since it's supposed to be short, but we are really, really bad and would like to pick it up later where we left off.
hey, thanks for playing! yeah, it saves when you return inside after every build and when you upgrade anything—I should make that clear somewhere. hope you enjoy
Thanks for the response! Turns out we didn't have anything to worry about, nice. The game is hilarious, definitely enjoying our time with it.
Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband! Husband!
good game, hope it gets expanded.
I keep crashing on launch with this popping up. "

" I have a rx580 on windows 10
Are your drivers up-to-date?
Yep
We love Husband
I'm sorry, but I just don't understand this game. I'm not sure if I'm moving my mouse in the wrong way but I can barely manage to hammer in a nail. I have no idea how this game can be completed in 30 minutes.
This game is addictive. I can't stop hammering. My Husband approves. 10/10.
Hit nails with hammer. Hit hand with hammer. Made my friend have a mental breakdown over what I was playing.
a+++++++++++++++++ would play again
so what do the clover nails do? it's somewhat unclear.
If you get perfect on a clover nail you get +5 perfect streak instead of the usual +1.
Saw this on TikTok and thought it was a joke, turns out it's real, and really fun.
I will say, periodically when placing a nail on the right side of the board, the hammer will get stuck under the deck and requires a bit of finagling to get it out.
Excited to see what all the upgrades do.
Overall 8/10 easy.
Update: how do I recover my save?
I love Husband <3
I cried :,)
amazing game, way harder than demon of hatred in Sekiro
Had two crashes right at the start when trying to buy stuff, assume it was from the defualt uncapped frame rate so maybe cap that when playing, but otherwise it was a fun bouncey husband loving game
thanks for playing, glad you had fun! just pushed an update that caps the framerate by default, good suggestion ty
Nevermind, figured it out and finished the game!
Can you fix the Z-fighting in the bottom right corner of the deck?
fixed, thanks for the heads-up
I can't figure out how to hit the bugs
art is incomprehensible, but the game is pretty fun. Although a bit short. I think the size of one deck is also a little bit too long. the first deck is such a drag. I think theres a bug(?) where your hammer gets stuck immediately after selecting which nail you want to hammer into the board, this happens more often than not, and the hammer controls would feel a million times more fluid if this did not happen.
Overall i liked it.
i'll look into that, thanks for letting me know. and thanks for playing, glad you liked it
thanks for making
Fun short game. I love building decks, I love my husband.
I love to build my deck
i keep getting fatal error help
this game hype as hell tho
Im getting an error attempting to boot the game:
Fatal error: [File:D:\build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\Windows\D3D11RHI\Private\D3D11Util.cpp] [Line: 249]

at D:\build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\Windows\D3D11RHI\Private\D3D11Shaders.cpp:196
Any idea how to fix this?
sorry to hear that—haven't seen it before, I'll have to look into it. what GPU are you running it on?
I'm getting the exact same error. My GPU is "Radeon RX 580 Series"
Radeon RX 590. Similar series to the commenter below me
just pushed an update, includes some changes to default graphics settings that will hopefully ameliorate this—if you (or anyone else who was getting this problem) gets a chance to try it out, please let me know if this fixes the crashing! (if you're using the itch desktop client, it may require a clean install)
getting the same error upon starting up even with the new update still
im on a Radeon RX 460
Ookay, thanks for testing—just pushed a patch that hopefully addresses this, if you (or anyone on a 4/5-series Radeon GPU) get the chance to let me know if this solves the problem would be much appreciated!
same issue, gpu is "Radeon RX Vega GL" (inbuilt laptop gpu), initially a window would pop up saying it detected that the currently installed drivers were known to have issues so I looked around for a newer update and installed it, the only thing that changed is there is now no window popup saying the drivers have issues, otherwise it gives the same error when trying to start the game.
ditto the rest, rx 580
Same issue here, with radeon rx 580
To be honest, this is the only Deck Builder out there.
Peak of the Rogue Light Deck Building genre.
Actually so polished and surprisingly addictive. Love the creepy environment and worldbuilding. My arm is kind of tired from swinging that hammer all day lol
I hit the same issues with the ticking sound and stuff.
fun concept! enjoyable short game. this is the first game of yours i've played, i will be looking into what else you have made.
i have some feedback, the cash planks are a little buggy:
sometimes the money score countdown doesn't pop up, and sometimes it does pop up but only for a split second.
also, once or twice, the ticking clock sound effect was still playing after I finished the plank and wouldn't stop ticking until I finished the game.
so nothing game breaking, just minor annoyances.
thanks for playing, and for the heads up! I'll fix that rn
